Just amazing that it came to this. It is fascinating to me that so many regulations, laws, ordinances, etc., are set up so things go the wrong way and cause damage and hurt the environment and disadvantaged populations, including wildlife. Why does that have to be the starting point? Why is it that little non-profits have to raise money take on these battle to prevent things like this. Our coastal embayments and ponds get polluted "legally" from outdated ineffective septic system and the tons of pesticide and fertilizer that just washes into the water. Whales are dying in ropes from fishing boats and getting hit by shipping traffic. Raptures are dying when they eat rodents that are eliminated with poison. Seems like some common sense changes are in order.
Does it not just sound a little "weird" to propose cutting down another almost 200 acres of forest to put in a machine gun range that would have covered several thousand acres. This was going right on top of the sole source water aquifer for the Upper Cape. You do realize that this is the same group that drove this headline last year on WBUR
Study: Toxic contamination at Joint Base Cape Cod could persist for centuries
So-called "forever chemicals" from a fire training site at Joint Base Cape Cod are still leaching into groundwater decades after training took place, according to a new study from Harvard researchers. The site was contaminated with PFAS chemicals in firefighting foam.
So we are supposed to believe that more damage would not occur from this proposed project?

Just amazing, beyond weird. Next up, Holtec wanting to dump over a million gallons of "treated" nuclear waste water into Cape Cod Bay. Stay tuned. Subscribe to the APCC newsletter to learn more about that. https://apcc.org/.
